All practices at UTM (unless otherwise noted) are held in the Dance Studio, which is located on the main floor of the Recreation, Athletics and Wellness Centre (RAWC), which can be found on the UTM map as building 01.
Practice Dates & Times
Please Note: We accept new members during the first month of each term. For the Fall 2024 term, this is September 2024.
Practices for the Fall 2024 Term:
The first practice of the Fall 2024 Term is Friday, September 6, 2024. Our last practice of the term is Friday, November 29, 2024.
Practices for the Fall 2024 term are Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7 – 9 pm.
Please arrive promptly and help ensure the practice area is clean and tidy.
As a practical note: Because we practice in the UTM facility, we suspend practices during time of final exams (December, April and August).
For the Beginners
Please be prompt to all practices. The first hour of every practice is for basics and in particular beginners. Please wear clothing you are comfortable sweating in! Feel free to stick around for the seniors practice and ask questions/talk with the senior students.
Are there practices during holidays and bad weather?
As we practice at a University facility, we practice as long as the University is open. That is, if the University closes operations (and buildings) due to holidays or inclement weather (think snow days in the winter), we can’t practice … the buildings are closed. As long as the buildings are open, we can practice, including Fridays of long weekends etc. We will make every effort to post expected (and unexpected) cancellation of practices.
From time to time, we may have to alter our practice schedule due to space constraints at UTM. Please check back for announcements as to the current days in which practices will be cancelled.
